Jonathan Mann, Artisic Director and Conductor
Named after Meconopsis Cambrica (the Welsh Poppy), we are a brand new ensemble formed from the
merger of two extremely successful orchestra’s, Cardiff Sinfonietta and The Welsh Sinfonia.
Players from both have enjoyed working with many high profile artists, including Nicola Benedetti,
Evelyn Glennie and Catrin Finch.
Our aim is to connect with the community whether locally or further away.
Our group can change size and adapt to perform in many settings, from a small ensemble
performing at a care home or a full symphony orchestra performing in a concert hall
or with a full choir.
Not only do we want to perform FOR you but we want to perform WITH you
through a variety of initiatives and platforms.
